Great sense of humour
“ your dog can come to the Drive-In… the answer is Yes by the way… your cat can come too, but leave the goldfish, that would be weird.”

“Built in 1948, the Port Hope Drive-In is one of Canada’s oldest continually operating theatres. Current owner Robert Holdsworth has been running it for 29 years, and has preserved the theatre’s classic feel, including its original screen building. Holdsworth typically shows new releases, but has been supplementing the screenings with some of his personal favourites, including Ghostbusters and Men in Black. “The movie is clear, the sound is good,” Holdsworth says. “And that’s why people come back.”

“ The Port Hope Drive-in has been opened since 1947. It is a single screen venue that shows double features, and sometimes triple features on the weekends. It is located half way between Port Hope and Coburg and is about an hour and 15 minutes from downtown Toronto. Currently, they only accept cash at the Port Hope Drive-in. However, they do have an ATM cash machine in the concession area. Pets are allowed as long as their owners keep them leashed at all times outside of the vehicle and clean up after them. So bring the dog but leave the credit cards at home and head out for a movie under the stars at the Port Hope Drive-in.”
